horncastle:thomas is a RIBA Chartered Practice formed in 2011 in the Isle of Man by Karen Horncastle + Martyn Thomas

Both RIBA Chartered Architects: Karen has worked in the Isle of Man for over thirty years; Martyn worked for two leading architectural practices in North West England before returning home in August 2010

Both have experience working on a variety of existing and new building types, including listed and registered buildings and new buildings in conservation areas

A belief in the value and benefits of good modern design underpins the practice's approach.  Always considering context, our environment, local Island constraints + levels of craft and combining design technology with an understanding of the past, horncastle:thomas retain an aspiration to find quality in the slightest of projects

In addition to the practice's current work, this website illustrates samples of work undertaken for previous employers + collaborators (as credited)

We work with a great team, currently including Fariba Shaban Poor, Finbar Samson and Alex Bowers

In recent years we have enjoyed working with Andrew Traynor, Raquel Pueyo, Betty Laurincova, Patricia Tutt, Laura Jones and Rania Gomaa
